Two top coaching sessions in March
Sheffield and Hallamshire Football Coaches Association are providing two free taster in March 2015 for members of this League.
Session 1:
The FA’s Head Of Coaching – John Peacock. John holds the UEFA Pro-Licence and the Academy Director’s Licence, making him a highly experienced coach who specialises in Youth Football. As Head of Coaching and U17 Head Coach, John has a major input into Coach Education from grass roots to the elite level of youth football in England. John’s work with the English FA youth players, as a coach developer, means he has a big influence in shaping the game of the future for our young players.
John’s coaching workshop will focus on ‘The Skill and Art of Defending’, which is an area of work that can often be neglected and John will provide practices that we can build upon to emphasise how important this aspect of the game is.
When: Thursday 5th March 2015; start at 7.00pm
Who: John Peacock; Head of Coaching at The FA/U17 Head Coach
Where: Sheffield Wednesday Academy, Middlewood Road, Sheffield, S6 1TF
Session 2:
Julie Callaghan has been a footballing inspiration over the years and I am proud to announce that Jules will host a practical demonstration on our behalf, Thursday 19th March 2015. Please see below for a few of Julie’s remarkable accomplishments:-
Former Sheffield Wednesday Ladies player
Ex Women’s Football Development Officer for Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA
Winner of a Sporting Excellence Award for her achievements in the world of football
Instrumental in the growth of the Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA Girls Football League
Formation of the Sheffield United Girl’s Centre of Excellence
Ex Head Coach of England Deaf Women’s Futsal team that finished runners up in the Moscow, 2006, World Championships – a major achievement in the history of disability football for women
Head Coach of England Deaf Women’s football team that finished 3rd in the 2014 inaugural European Championships
Currently Jules is Regional Coach Development Manager (North West)
A great role model for thousands of girls over the years, during her highly impressive career in football
Julie will be coaching a dual theme – ‘Developing Attacking and Defending’
When we turn up to our one hour coaching session with our team what do we coach in 60 minutes. Julie will be showing us how to develop/coach both aspects of the game in one session ie coach what you see defensively and offensively. Because Julie is ‘multi-tasking’ it will no doubt create multiple outcomes – things that we all probably encounter in our weekly coaching sessions. Julie’s coaches workshop is bespoke to grass roots coaching.
When: Thursday 19th March 2015; start at 7.00pm
Where: Sheffield Wednesday Academy/Training Ground Middlewood Road Sheffield S6 1TF
