Ecclesfield Spartans u11 black v Ecclesfield red rose u11 juniors
I wanted to let you know that this local derby played yesterday afternoon was a fantastic advertisement for junior football, the game was played in fantastic spirit at a very high tempo, it was the most exciting game I've had the pleasure to be involved in, it was end to end with some brilliant football being played by both teams, any neutral watching this game couldn't help but be impressed, it was played in true local derby style with both teams battling for a result, Spartans showed just why they are top of the league and undoubted favorites for the title, but my red rose boys gave them possibly their toughest game of the season in our battle to stay up, young referee Sam Clayton was brilliant he let the game flow and officiated the game with a maturity of a well experienced official, the game finished 2-1 with Spartans scoring the winner with literally 10 seconds to go which emphasizes how tight and exciting this game was. When the game finished I was busting with pride not only of how well my little heroes performed but also proud to be involved to such a fantastic example of junior football.
Myself and all at red rose u11 juniors would like to thank Spartans for their hospitality and wish them all the best in their quest for title.
Regards
