Old Kit Wanted
"As you are probably (hopefully) aware I run a small ‘Charitable Appeal’ known as the RAF Taking Football to Africa and Beyond Appeal. It collects used and unwanted football kits and redistributes them worldwide. Since 2006 we have delivered 115516 items including 38803 football shirts to 50 countries, and, as such, have greatly assisted those who have little. Football is truly the global sport loved by people across the globe. We deliver ‘Aid through Football’.
We have recently returned from Kenya having delivered 7500 items across 30 deliveries including in the huge slum areas of Kibera, Kibagare and Mathare in Nairobi. The next Kenya visit is scheduled for 9 days on Oct 16. It is completely self financed (approx £1250 should anyone be interested??)
I have also recently donated kits to projects in Palestine/Israel (project to bring youth together), Syria/Turkey refugee camps, Belarus/Ukraine (Children of Chernobyl), Nepal (Ghurkha Welfare Society), Zambia and South Africa. In 2015 to date over 12900 items have been delivered.
We do not operate with money and purely take football kits of any type including boots etc. We can generally collect and will redistribute and let you know where your kit went, as well as, hopefully, providing pictures.
This is the time of year when your counties and your member teams across your areas are changing kits and often just throwing away old kits. We will be happy to take them.
Kind regards.
NEIL HOPE"
