The FA Youth Award Module 1- Developing The Enviroment
The FA Youth Award Module 1 provides practical sessions and advice for coaching young players and will increase the candidate's knowledge of coaching appropriately.
Coaches often spend a lot of time focusing on training drills, fixtures and matchdays. Wouldn’t it be great if you could step back and look at each of your young players individually? Think about:
•What motivates them to play football?
•How can you build their self esteem?
•How can you manage differences in age, experience, ability and attitude?
•Can you create the right environment for young people to learn?
•Can you teach them strategies for managing mistakes?
•How to tailor practice sessions according to age, ability, experience and maturity?
The course is split into modules.
Coaches with a Level One certificate in Coaching Football and a member of the FA Licenced Coaches Club can go straight to Module One.
Module One of The FA Youth Award focuses on creating the right environment for the child to learn. This was launched in 2009 and feedback has already been very encouraging. Both grassroots and elite coaches have found the sessions highly useful for their development as youth coaches.
