Academy U8-U14 Goalkeeper Open Training Sessions
Academy U8-U14 Goalkeeper Open Training Sessions
Sheffield United FC Academy will be providing current U8-12 goalkeepers the opportunity to attend an open training session. The training session will take place at Sheffield United’s Redtooth Academy Facility with Academy Goalkeeping Coach Jamie Annerson (former Sheffield United, Rotherham and England U19 goalkeeper) on Thursday 30th October 2014 from 5:30pm–7:00pm.
Sheffield United FC has a proud history of producing talented young goalkeepers and providing them the opportunity to progress through the Academy to 1st team level. Current Academy graduates include: George Long (SUFC & England U21), George Willis (SUFC & England U19), Jake Eastwood (SUFC U18 & England U18) and Gareth Owen (SUFC U18 & Wales U19).
Could this be you?
Boys that are interested in attending should register their interest by asking parents to send an email to Anthony.Tunstall@sufc.co.uk - please put ‘Goalkeeper Open Training Session’ as the subject of the email and provide us with your name, date of birth and a brief outline of playing history.
There are only a limited number of places available so not all players will be invited - we hope to run similar activities on a regular basis to give as many local players as possible the chance to enjoy the Academy experience.
The closing date for applications will be Friday 24th October at 5:00pm. Those that are successful will be contacted by Academy staff.
Some players may be offered the opportunity to train with the Academy following the training session; others may be invited to attend our Elite GK Development Centre. However, players and parents are reminded that obtaining the opportunity is a huge challenge so as a priority players attending need to be realistic about the chances of success.
