Safeguarding Stars
The Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) are asking sport to highlight those people who have gone the extra mile to ensure safeguards are embedded in sport. Norfolk FA fully supports this event and wishes to encourage applications from across the County.
Every two years the CPSU looks to celebrate the hard work of individuals involved in safeguarding and there are a dedicated network of volunteers across football making a real difference. In the past football has been proud to have individuals acknowledged nationally through the CPSU Safeguarding Stars Award as well as through The FAs own Respect Awards.
The focus this year is on individuals identified as making a significant contribution to safeguarding children and young people who are particularly vulnerable.
The CPSU would particularly like to hear about the achievements of individuals at a club, facility or activity level who have helped to include and safeguard young people who may, for example, be disabled, LGBT, elite young athletes, at risk of social exclusion, or part of other vulnerable groups.

All nominees will receive an acknowledgment from the CPSU. As in previous years, a panel of young sports people will review the nominations and select the six nominees who they believe have made outstanding contributions to inclusion and safeguarding in their club, organisation or sport.
These nominees will be invited to attend the CPSU Lead Officers' event Safeguarding children – celebrating difference on 14 October 2015, which will include a Safeguarding Stars presentation.
All nominations should be sent directly to cpsu@nspcc.org.uk by the 10th July 2015,
