The Sheffield & District Junior Sunday League has been awarded the Football Association’s Regional Award for the FA Respect & Fair Play Awards 2014/2015 - Silver Award. This award recognizes the work of the league in providing an outstanding playing environment for participants, referees and spectators.
This means that the League will automatically be put forward to be considered with winning leagues from other County FA’s to be considered for the Gold Award which will see a panel of judges decide on June 24th with the winning league being invited to an award ceremony that will be staged prior to the FA Community Shield - Arsenal vs Chelsea on August 2 2015.
Nathan Batchelor, Secretary of the League said: “The League is delighted to have achieved the silver level for the third time in the past four seasons. Hopefully this time the League can obtain the gold award. These awards would not be possible without the hard work of all involved in the League from players, parents, coaches, managers, welfare officers and referees to create a positive, enjoyable and fun environment to play football in.”
Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA congratulate the S&DJSL for achieving such an reward for all their hard work and, of course, for all the hard work that goes on, often behind the scenes at the clubs.
In addition, S&HCFA wish the League all the very best for the decision that will be made on June 24th.
