Disability Player Development Centre
Hi Team Manager
Re: Disability Player Development Centre
Across the FA we are in the process of trying to identify disabled young people in mainstream football in order to fast track them through to elite squads and England squads. We run a Player Development Centre within Sheffield & Hallamshire and we are desperate for new players to come and train with us, even though the PDC is for 12-16 year olds we want to understand our audience better. For us a disabled young person includes someone with:
• Cerebral Palsy
• Amputee
• Hearing or visual impairment
• Physical Disability
• Learning Disability
• Autism
• Dyspraxia
• ADHD
We would really appreciate you to email me (Matt Elkington) with as much information as possible about the disabled people within your club, obviously with the consent from parents/carers. There are hundreds of opportunities out there for these disabled young people and for the majority of the time they are just not aware about it!
The disability football network and the PDC will give them a great opportunity to progress in football with access to additional regular high quality coaching.
Please feel free to contact me or to ask me any further questions.
Kind Regards
Matt
